The U19 A footballers advanced to the West league final last night following a comfortable victory over St.Michael’s. After a dominant first half display by the home side, the visitors grew into the game in the second half however Oranmore Maree ran out comfortable winners.
The under 19B side took on St James last night the 14th of May in the league semi final. It was a home game for the City side played in glorious sunshine. Oranmore Maree started with a light wind to their backs and the sides were separated by 2 scores at the end of 30 minutes. The first half included a 2 pointer from Cian Quirke. But the St James side stretched their lead in the second half and eventually finished on top with a score line of 2:19 to 9 points. The final score doesn't do justice to the performance or effort of the Oranmore Maree lads who fought to the final whistle.
This was the league semi final and marks an end to a successful campaign at this age grade. 6 of the u19b squad have now played Junior C football. 4 of the squad have progressed to 19A and Junior teams. Looking forward to a Summer of football.
