While the weather might have been very mixed over last week and the Easter weekend, we have had a great run of weather since the main work started on the Renville site at the start of March. Great progress has been made in the last two months by our contractor, ML & S Boland Civil Engineering. Cut and fill groundworks have been completed for the 4G Astro up to base level (drainage goes in next, followed by stone foundation, shockpad and carpet). Anyone walking in Rinville Park, will have seen the impressive progress on the 4G Astro.
In addition, a substantial amount of the cut and fill groundworks for Pitch No. 1 and 4 have been completed and work has started on hard core surfacing of the car park. A few pictures of the works are shown below.
All of the club teams are now up and running, which is great to see. For anyone that is not a member of the club, it would be great if you could sign up, so as to keep updated on developments, matches and events across the club, participate in club draws for All-Ireland tickets, etc.. Also, next month on the 14th May we are organising a Business Breakfast to present an update on the project and business sponsorship/partnership opportunities for our State-of-the-Art Renville Sports Grounds development. MC at the event will be Gráinne McElwain from RTE/TG4/GAA+, with guest speakers Liam Conneally, (CEO, Galway County Council) and Des Ryan (Director of Sport & Physical Wellbeing, University of Galway) and we will also have a surprise sporting great for a panel discussion. If you are involved in any company that would be interested in attending the event and hearing about the opportunities to support this great project, please email renvillesportsground@gmail.com or call our Finance Lead, Frank Lohan on 087-617 3241.
